Robert "Buzz" Pine Tribute Page

Robert "Buzz" Pine holds a very special place in the hearts of Josh Diesel. This highly acclaimed actor, best known for his role as Sergeant Getraer on "Chips," acts as a beacon, a symbolic icon that Josh Diesel depends on everyday for energy and enlightenment. "Buzz" Pine acts as an epoxy, holding JD together.

Josh Diesel's connection with "Buzz" Pine is haunting, almost surreal. "Buzz" Pine went to high school in Scarsdale, NY. Also attending that high school were two important people: The fathers of Bill Wright and Josh Baron. "Buzz" attended Kenyon College in Ohio. "Buzz" Pine's little brother in his fraternity was John Turner, the father of the now estranged Jack Turner. This connection, that transcends generations, drives Josh Diesel to new levels of creativity and musical prowess.

"Buzz" Pines role as Seargent Getraer also has impacted Josh Diesel. The image of the strong seargent, standing steadfast at the front of the CHP briefing room, gives JD great confidence and strength during their concerts. His ability to mesh the fiery temper of Ponch with the reserved persona of John illustrates Diesels ability to propagate world peace through sweet musical notes. His ability to handle a Police Cruiser with great skill paralells JD's ability to "drive" a crowd into a phonic trance. "Buzz" Pine's influence on JD cannot be quantified. This page is but a small tribute to man who has made a huge difference.
